Driving in Grove City

  1. I-71 exits

I-71 runs along the east side of the city with exits at Stringtown Road and SR-665. Stringtown Road's shopping traffic makes its exit one of the busiest to learn on.

  2. Broadway Town Center

Broadway runs through the Town Center, with crosswalks, street parking and events that close lanes. Slow down and watch for people crossing. On event days, look for closed lanes and detour signs before you set out.

  3. Stringtown Road

Wide, busy and full of shop entrances, Stringtown Road is where Grove City students learn to time left turns and handle multi-lane intersections.

  4. Older streets near Broadway

The blocks around the Town Center have narrow residential streets, four-way stops and cars parked on both sides. A good place to practice patience and full stops.

Practice drives with a parent

Start on residential streets, then drive Broadway through the Town Center on a quiet morning. Stringtown Road is the next step: practice left turns at the big intersections and watching for cars leaving shops. When your teen is ready for the freeway, join I-71 at Stringtown Road and leave at SR-665, the next exit south. Drive to the Alum Creek Drive or Hilliard station once before test day so nothing about the trip is new.
