Teen Programs (Under 18)
In Ohio, if you are under 18 years old, the state requires 24 hours of classroom instruction and 8 hours of behind-the-wheel training with a certified instructor.

Adult Programs (18 and Older)
⚠️ Important Update for 18-20 Year Olds: Beginning September 30, 2025, Ohio law requires all 18, 19, and 20-year-olds to complete a full Class D driver training program (24 hours instruction + 8 hours driving) before obtaining a license.
Limited Term License / Full Driver Education
Required for adults 18–20, and recommended for all first-time adult drivers. Can also be used for Limited Term License applicants (temporary U.S. residents).

Maneuverability (Cone Practice) — Any Age
Best for: Students who finished their hours but feel shaky on the cone maneuver, parallel parking, or highway merging. Also great as a "day before the test" confidence booster.

Classroom Enrollment Checklist
- Birth certificate or valid passport
- Social Security card (or SSA denial letter)
- Two proofs of Ohio residency (utility bill, bank statement, etc.)
- Parent or legal guardian present for minors
- Enrollment fee (cash, card, or Zelle)
For Behind-the-Wheel Lessons
⚠️ Mandatory: You must have your physical Temporary Instruction Permit (TIPIC) on your person for every lesson.
- Comfortable closed-toe shoes — no flip-flops, slides, or heels
- Corrective lenses if you wear them
- Classroom Certificate of Enrollment (issued after first 2 classroom hours)
- Any remaining balance must be paid before the first session

Pass the vision and knowledge test at the BMV. You need this before starting any driving lessons.

Complete Theory
Start your 24-hour (Teens) or 4-hour (Abbreviated) online course.

Schedule Driving
Once you have your classroom certificate, call us to schedule your 2-hour driving blocks.

Practice (Teens)
Log 50 hours of practice with an adult 21+. At least 10 hours must be at night.

Final Certificate
After your last drive, we issue your final completion certificate.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does the whole process take?
Ohio gives you 180 days to finish. Most students finish classroom in 2–4 weeks and BTW in 3–6 weeks. Under-18s must hold their permit for 6 months before the road test.
Can I take the classroom portion online?
Yes. Ohio approves several online providers, and their certificates satisfy the 24-hour requirement the same as in-person.
Do I need my permit before starting behind-the-wheel?
Yes. You must have your TIPIC before we can put you in the driver's seat. You can start classroom without it.
I already took classroom elsewhere. Can I just do the 8 hours with you?
Absolutely. Our BTW-only option lets you complete the requirement with us even if you did classroom elsewhere.
What if I need to reschedule a lesson?
Reschedules are free with at least 24 hours' notice. Inside 24 hours, a fee applies. Weather cancellations initiated by us are always free to reschedule.
